Eyal Niv joined Pitango in October 2015 as Partner and General Manager.

Prior to joining Pitango, Eyal was managing partner at Giza VC, where he led the fund’s operations, focusing mainly on IT infrastructure, semiconductors and internet.

Among the investments Eyal was involved in were XtremIO (acquired by EMC); CrossWise (acquired by Oracle); Pebbles (acquired by Facebook); Oplus (acquired by Intel); Cyota (acquired by RSA and later acquired by EMC) and Odysii (acquired by Gilbarco Inc.)

Eyal also played a pivotal role in the following investments: LogzIO – Machine Data Analytics; CallApp – social mobile identity provider; Altair Semiconductors – LTE chipset provider (acquired by Sony); AdExtent – an Adtech company and Lucid – embedded power management for mobile devices.

Eyal is also co-founder of The Public Knowledge Workshop – a leading non-profit organization for the freedom of information.

Eyal holds a B.Com in Corporate Finance from the University of Witwatersrand, South Africa. He’s an avid mountain biker and passionate about photography, basketball, snowboarding and gaming.
